Mr. Amer Maqbool – Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Maqbool has over 10 years of experience in the asset management industry. In the United States he has worked for leading organizations such as Mass Mutual in New York and Fidelity Investments in Boston. In Pakistan he joined ABAMCO Limited (now JS Investments) in 2003 to head the Business Planning and Development Department. He was responsible for over 3 fund launches and strategic restructuring of the company. He joined BMA Asset Management Limited in 2006 as its Chief Operating Officer and has been involved with all operational and business planning areas there prior to joining Crosby Asset Management Pakistan in 2008.
Mr. Saad Qureshi – Chief Marketing Officer
Mr. Qureshi has joined Crosby AMC as Chief Marketing Officer in August 2009. His responsibilities include spearheading the direct sales initiative at Crosby, besides other functional roles related to marketing and channel management.
Mr. Qureshi has over six years of experience in financial industry and prior to joining Crosby, he was heading IGI-Fund Select, the largest non-bank mutual fund distributor in Pakistan. At IGI he was also involved in marketing the separately managed account (SMA) product and successfully closed three major accounts. He also worked at BMA Funds as Head of Sales and Distribution where he was majorly involved in launching BMA’s first open end fund, BCCF, which became a success story within six months of its launch. Prior to that he was associated with JS Investments in the capacity of Senior Manager – Strategic Planning & Business Development where he worked in sales, distribution, product development, fund launches, marketing and organizational restructuring.
He holds an MBA degree in Marketing from Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi.
Mr. Jamshed Khan – Investment Strategist, Fixed Income
Mr. Khan has eleven years experience of Pakistan’s financial markets and their participants. He joined Crosby in April 2009. He has started his career in actuarial consulting with the Pakistan practice of M/s Watson Wyatt where he worked on asset-liability models and advised pension funds and other retirement benefit funds on their asset allocation mix. Subsequently he moved into direct portfolio management and development liability-driven investment solutions for institutional clients. He has worked Arif Habib Investment Management, BMA Asset Management, and most recently was the Head of Treasury at IGI Investment Bank Limited. Mr. Khan has a Bachelors degree in Economics with Honours from the University of London, and has cleared 9 out of 16 papers of the Institute of Actuaries, U.K.
Syed Hussain Haider – Investment Strategist, Equities
Syed Hussain has over six years of extensive professional experience in equity selection, trading, financial modeling and buy & sell side research in Pakistan.
He joined Crosby in July 2008 after a short stint at NIB Bank’s Treasury. Earlier, he has been with JS Investments (JSIL) for over three years. At JSIL, he was responsible for managing a variety of both Open End and Closed End mutual funds each with a distinct mandate including some of the oldest funds in Pakistan’s private sector like Unit Trust of Pakistan (UTP) and BSJS Balance Fund (now, JS Value Fund) to name a few. Besides, he also has had an opportunity to be part of the team that launched and managed innovative fund structures like Fund of Funds and Index Funds. Prior to JSIL, he has worked for corporate brokerage firms in Equities & Economics Research for two years. His last assignment as Analyst was at AKD Securities covering the textile sector. In addition, Syed Hussain has also been briefly associated with a London based Private Wealth Management Boutique covering global markets.
Syed Hussain has done his BBA & MBA in Finance majors from IBA, Karachi and holds the Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) from the CFA Institute, USA. He is also a Level III Candidate in the CFA Program.
